...and if you ask me why I needed to put something cheap like a Kel-Tec on layaway, remember, I'm young and on a college budget! So, in 30 dreadfully long days, I will acquire my new baby. Went with the chrome slide; Not my style to get something flashy like chrome, but it's the most moisture/abrasion resistant finish Kel-Tec makes. Besides, it's a carry gun, not a range gun; Nobody needs to see it. Making this purchase was a big step, but I need something more concealable so I may carry 24/7 instead of just sporadically. I hate knowing I shelled out some money that I'm tight on now, but hey, the day I need to use the gun (God forbid) is the day I'll be grateful I bought it, right? (Insert reassuring "way to go" comments here...)

I think you made a good decision on the Kel-Tec, Dwight. Many of us on this Forum can relate to putting half down on a particular weapon and live in anticipation until we have the other half.

Don't worry about having to put half down on a gun. I promise, you will never have enough money in life no matter how successful you are.

Dude, you've got nothing at all to be ashamed of. Besides, you're WAY ahead of where I was during undergrad...I can recall having to eat Ramen noodles (spicy shrimp was my favorite ) for weeks on end due to low/no cash flow!

I could have never afforded any gun while in college. I applaud your fiscal maturity.
