Hunting Trip Pics.

Postby TDDude » Fri Jan 13, 2012 2:58 pm

From an undisclosed location in South Texas.

My son's first buck. Don't let my boy's size fool you. He's 6' tall and around 175lbs., but still only 14.

My 18 yr old skinning hers.

Now where does that back strap start again??

Cube-ing it up for the grinder. This is the part they don't like so much.

My wife checking out the hog I shot. My first by the way.
I've shot hundreds of deer in my life but never hogs. This one was 165lbs on the hoof.
I used my AR-15 M4 with an Aimpoint at about 100 yards. I hit her with a broadside shot in the shoulder and we found the round in a hind quarter when we quartered her out. She dropped like a rock.
Anyone who says a 55gr soft point .223 round can't take a hog I guess isn't that good a shot.

Freezer is almost full.

Awesome post TD! Looks like y'all had a blast, literally and figuratively! Never am I as relaxed as I am when I'm sitting in a deer blind, and I get to do it next year for the first time with my oldest daughter. It likely won't be as quiet, but it'll be awesome.

Nice basket on that buck! Beats the button buck (I swore it was a doe) I got for my 5th tag.
Owning a gun is like owning a fire extinguisher. Neither makes you a cop or a firefighter, but both give you and your family a way to hold the line against death until reinforcement arrives.

Most excellent for everyone! My favorite part is that you have your whole family involved! Outsatnding!

Went on a hog hunt with some friends and got the only one I saw.

When they get shot behind the ear on a quartering shot from behind, they get a bloody nose!!
