Hopefully he will be fine and fully recover.
I now know why Bayou rifles does not allow drawing from a holster.
No finger on the trigger until the target is in the sights.

Re: LEO shot at gun range
Had an ole Drill Sergeant in the Army, his saying was keep your bugger-hook off the bang switch until you have the enemy in your sights and you're ready to kill him.

I think you and TAM had the same DI, that is what he says (or has said) on here more than a couple times that I have readGrammy wrote:, his saying was keep your bugger-hook off the bang switch until you have the enemy in your sights and you're ready to kill him.

Re: LEO shot at gun range
This was from Nevada Shooters the poster got it from somewhere else and is just a small part of a satire on how you bought the wrong gun.
"Glock: Butt-ugly plastic shooting appliance with the ergonomics of a
caulking gun. Five-pound trigger with no external safety makes it ill
suited for its target market (cops who shoot a hundred rounds a year for
qualification). Favored by gangbangers because the product name is short
and rhymes with other short, rap-friendly words."
This appears to be right on in this particular situation.
Since I have never had a holster, I had not thought of putting it back in with your finger on the trigger. That would make a lot of sense on how it happened.

Glock on a rope?
Re: LEO shot at gun range
I have a Sig P238 and planned to carry it my front pocket. I wanted to carry it with an extra magazine as I have learned to unload them pretty fast, however the first magazine I bought that did not come with the gun, malfunctioned even though it said it was an official Sig P238 magazine. It did not exactly look like the one that came with the gun so I returned it.Fangs wrote:philip964 wrote:Since I have never had a holster...How do you carry?
Since then the Eric Scott incident occurred in Las Vegas. I'm just an average Joe, I didn't graduate from West Point, no master's degree, doubtful the local press would pick up my story other than "police shot an old man with a gun". So I am stalling carrying for the first time as I determine if it is more dangerous to be with a gun than without.
Now I'm thinking my first time should be at Costco and not Wallyworld.
I tend to be deliberate and take things slow. I didn't even own a gun when I took my Concealed handgun class. I borrowed the instructors.
But some how since the I now have three. Funny how that happens.
Re: LEO shot at gun range
If that was one of us, do you think the police investigaters and reporters would be as reluctant to speculate?Teamless wrote:So I take it he shot himself in the leg?was somehow shot in the leg.

Re: LEO shot at gun range
Apparently we need a fifth rule: Never touch the trigger until you're ready to shoot.
