FBI documents associate internet slang like 'based' and 'red pill' with 'extremism'

https://www.foxnews.com/media/fbi-docum ... -extremism

Not sure what based means, red pill was the one Neo took in the Matrix, reality vs blue pill which was the dream world.

The list also includes the term "LARPing," which was originally used to describe people engaged in live-action roleplay, often as characters in high-fantasy settings.
Now the FBI is after the elf and girl with the foam sword:

Based (usually capitalized) started off meaning non-biased by left left but was taken over by 4chan and the right as meaning based in truth, reality or based in a desirable situation/lifestyle.

IE, a kid calling out the nonsense they are taught in schools and instead saying they want a normal nuclear family and to follow Jesus (real example from several months back, btw) was responded with thousands of comments of "based" and "based Christ-pilled".

Its hilarious that "Based" has become a watch word and associated with extremism as it is pretty much only used when someone says what the normal masses are thinking.

Adding from your article, notice the difference between the FBI's interpretation and what is stated in the article (below)
"Based" is defined by the FBI as a word used to "refer to someone who has been converted to racist ideology, or as a way of indicating ideological agreement." In regular parlance, based is a context-specific word coined by rapper Lil B that can mean, as KnowYourMeme describes, anything ranging from "something that is ‘agreeable’ and ‘cool,’" to something "considered anti-woke."

Maybe someone should ask the FBI to look into Aaron Hillegass:

A New College of Florida (NCF) professor wrote that he would burn down campus buildings if he were not “more patriotic,”
Aaron Hillegass, NCF director of applied data science, wrote to Corcoran to inform that he would not be renewing his contract when it expires on August 22, according to the letter posted to Twitter. The notice came in opposition to turning the Florida college into “The Hillsdale of the South,” a nod to the conservative Michigan school, after Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed six conservative members to the Board of Trustees in January.

I don't know. Sounds like a threat to me. Or maybe a dog whistle to Antifa to burn the college down.
The FBI needs to take a hard look at this guy.

More info about what that all means:
Agents have the authority to aggressively investigate anyone they believe could be a valuable source for the bureau.
Some of the most significant revelations of the CHS guide expand on what we know about the FBI’s so-called Type 5 assessments — through which federal agents have authority to investigate people in the United States who are not suspected of having committed crimes, but who, in a federal agent’s opinion, could be recruited as informants. The classified guidelines reveal:

Before approaching a potential informant, agents are encouraged to build a file on that person, using information obtained during an FBI assessment, including derogatory information and information gleaned from other informants. The FBI claims that it seeks derogatory information in order not to be blindsided by its informants’ vulnerabilities, but such material may also be useful in coercing cooperation from otherwise unwilling recruits.

Yes. Yes it does. In particular they target those with immigration troubles.

Wouldn't that be akin to entrapment?

No, entrapment is what they do once they acquire "informants": It's (Almost) Always the Feds: How the FBI Fabricates Schemes To Entrap Would-Be Radicals
Here's a tip: If you have some radical political views and an acquaintance reaches out, encourages you to act on your convictions, and maybe offers to introduce you to a guy who can sell you some bomb parts, don't take him up on it. That guy's almost definitely working for the feds.

Chris Wray subpoenaed by house judiciary on FBI targeting Catholic Churches.

Hitmen ads in magazines are police.
Escort services ads are police.
I’m still surprised when I read about someone being arrested.

Thats exactly what it is and they stole the idea from the Комитет государственной безопасности (KGB).

Orwell's 1984 may need another reading seeing as he addressed it as well

well you know the FBI withheld vital info from FDR during WW2
they have been running the country ever since.
i saw the ag try to dismiss the memo to infiltrate catholic groups and called us radical Catholics? so as not to be confused with Catholics and not to be inferred as targeting people based on RELIGION ...he need a radical wing to target...
