i thought it was not legal to walk around wearing body armor? or did i get mis informed again
i know back packs with the plate are supposed to be ok, but it thought for sure wearing a vest with armor plates was a no no
hey i got an email from a firefighter website to buy the big door buster pry bars..i can see a cop asking why i have one of them on the trunk

Re: body armor
It's perfectly fine.
Re: body armor
It's unlawful for a felon to possess body armor. I can't remember if it's just a Texas law, or a federal law.

Re: body armor
yep i mis-read the statute
it seems a felony conviction is a no no. and its not just felonies for firearm related crimes or dv
but hey we can walk around with heavy plates on our chest and back.
seems strange, but if it floats your boat, i say go for it

You will be OK if they don't spot your ski mask, gloves, kitchen knife and roll of duct tape.powerboatr wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 12:28 pm snip...

Re: body armor
I think, at least in the Penal Code, that's dealt with entirely in the short Section 46.041.
Sec. 46.041. UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METAL OR BODY ARMOR BY FELON. (a) In this section, "metal or body armor" means any body covering manifestly designed, made, or adapted for the purpose of protecting a person against gunfire.
(b) A person who has been convicted of a felony commits an offense if after the conviction the person possesses metal or body armor.
(c) An offense under this section is a felony of the third degree.

You're very welcome. But I went back and put "I think" in italics because I'm not a lawyer, can't spell "attorney," and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night. On legal matters, as a source I'm strictly "look at the input but verify."

Re: body armor
Probably missed the armor entirely, given the average person's skills even at close range.
