Tough to be a conservative in America today

I believe that it has been tough to be anything but a Democrat for decades. The Democrat party play book starts with "play nice with us or will mess you up." We have seen a parade of Supreme Court justice nominees from Bork forward. The trashing of "W" was epic and the attacks on Trump took to a new level. On a lower level, the creator of "The Libs of Tik-Tok" had had full on attacks and death threats just for collecting videos created by the very people who are attacking her.

The underlying problem, at least for me, is that a significant number of Conservatives are also Christians and hold themselves to a different standard than those who wish to attack them. When one side fights dirty and the other side refuses to engage at that level, it will always seem like a lopsided battle. Where the wheels fall of the wagon for me is when the governmental entities are engaging in the same manner. Weaponizing the government to punish Conservatives is complete different than spray painting trash on a garage door. And shooting up a school to make the transgender political point is on the same level as the government who is hiding the manifesto of the shooter.

At no point in history have Christians and Jews been free from attacks. Conservatives are just the latest designation of the same kind of people attacked for the same reasons. Perhaps the most ironic part of all of this is the accusation of hate against Conservatives. Hate is what spray paints someone else's house.
