Reports now say that Lewis Cantrell III, 26, shot his father, Lewis Edward Cantrell Jr., 55, and his step-mother, Gayle Mardis Cantrell, 46, in a dispute over money.

Three younger family members, including a 5-year-old, were in the house at the time and were not physically injured.

What a tragedy, another family ripped apart. Thank the Lord that the younger children were able to escape, however, their lives have been changed for ever.

Garland, today, police allege that a minor teenage girl (age 12) and her "boyfriend" (age 13) shot her parents, killing the mother and putting the father in critical condition.

The location is given as 600 block of Rilla Drive near Centerville and Broadway. Means nothing to me.

Do people with mental problems need a motive?

Not necessarily. But more often than not there is some kind of trigger. For younger people who kill parents, it often involves being told they can't do something or denied money.

In Las Vegas, the wife of a 29-year-old U.S. Air Force staff sergeant was charged with murder for soliciting a hit on him. Her alleged lover and another man and woman were also charged.

The deceased man was fatally shot when he opened his garage door at his home on December 1. His wife allegedly used a cell phone to instruct the alleged shooter of her husband's whereabouts.

The bereaved widow reportedly expected to receive insurance and other benefits worth $600,000.

A 17-year-old example of the cream of America's youth was arrested and charged with beating to death his 68-year-old grandmother in Conroe, probably last Saturday or early Sunday.

In Longview December 10, a 28-year-old female police officer with 15 years' experience allegedly was shot and killed by her husband, who is a 911 administrator.

The couple allegedly engaged in a physical fight when the husband gained control of the wife's pistol and shot her. He has been charged with murder.

She became a LEO when she was 13 years old??

My preacher graduated from Chaplain school in the US Navy.

One of his classmates later got involved in a bad lifestyle and shot his pregnant wife to death.
This happened in Lindale, Smith County, Texas (on Tyler's northern boundary). He is residing
in Huntsville, or some such locale, for a long time. I don't know how long ago this happened.

In rural Millersburg, Holmes County, Ohio (outskirts of the middle of nowhere) today a 10-year-old boy was charged with murder for allegedly shooting his 46-year-old mother to death Sunday with a single .22 rifle shot to the head.

The rifle had been a Christmas present.

An older sister was present and was not injured.

The first link conveniently give the child's name and exact residential address:

No mention of a father or other male presence in the household.
