Two weapons used in crimes once sold by Memphis police

According to an AP story published today, the firearms used in the recent shootings at the Pentagon and a courthouse in Las Vegas were once seized as evidence by the Memphis police, and then sold into legitimate channels.

Probably this is just a weird coincidence, but the usual suspects will try to make hay out of it.

The Brady Bunch spin will no doubt be that if the police had been required to destroy the weapons, these crimes wouldn't have happened.

Wait til some enterprising reporter does a story on how many cars sold at police auctions are later used in crimes.

We could then follow the British in their spiraling descent into insanity and require destruction of anything of monetary value the government could sell lest it be used for nefarious purposes. Besides being sure to be sold as the fix to end all crime, that oughta' really fix the budget.
