Fried Chicken

#1

Post by cougartex »

Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."
She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, everyone else in the class laughed.

My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am.
Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened,
and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said
they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.

Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office.
I told him what happened, and he laughed too.
Then he told me not to do it again.

The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was.
I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd asked the other children.
So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me
back to the principal's office again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.

I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't
like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person
we admire most.

I told her, "Colonel Sanders".

Guess where I am now...

By the way I belong to PETA as well: People Eating Tasty Animals

Speaking of Colonel Sanders, this is a true story
that happened some years ago in/around NYC:

Colonel Sanders was travelling and had his suitcase
stolen. Inside were some of his signature white Kentucky
Colonel suits.

Some time later the police in NJ found his suitcase.

The suits were still inside, but the thief/thieves had smeared
them thoroughly with motor oil or grease.

I wonder if they knew who owned the suits.

Just another case of domestic terrorism I guess. :-)

He lived 1890-1980. His "Kentucky Colonel" official status
was first granted by the Governor of KY in 1935, and was
re-commissioned by a later Governor of KY in 1950.

LOL. Flashbacks to KFC in Okinawa with that pic. They don't have the same hangups with stereotypical images that we do here in the USA.

I actually met the man once... ...at least I'm pretty sure it was him. It was late at night once in the 1960s, and my dad, brothers, and I were driving back home from LAX, having dropped my mother off there for a flight to Europe. We stopped somewhere along the 10 freeway at a KFC to get a late dinner, and the Colonel was behind the counter. He told us that the company had him touring around the country doing promotional appearances at KFC restaurants. We just happened to come by that one while he was there. It never occurred to me until just now, what he would have been doing there that late at night. It must have been around 10 or 11 p.m.

Guns are like parachutes, if your ever in a situation that you need one and you dont have one, you'll probably never need one again.

I hope you're all happy.

I read this thread this morning, and couldn't get the thought of KFC out of my head all day.

Ended up eating there for lunch today. Mmmm Mmmm was it good. :thumbs2:

Speaking of fried chicken, what's the best fried chicken you've had? I haven't eaten it for about a year but I am going to. Michael Berry insists that Frenchy's has the best.

I plan to try it soon.

The original Babe's Chicken Dinner House in Roanoke, Texas.

Accept no substitutes. Also, mourn for the people who order the chicken fried steak instead. They just don't understand that good chicken fried steak is a commodity in Texas - but chicken like that - well - you need to visit and you'll understand.
