A jury awarded two LAPD officers $2 million Monday after determining that supervisors had retaliated against the officers for complaining about alleged traffic ticket quotas.

heck, with red light cameras they're cutting out the middle man!
No need to pay cops to write tickets, just buy the camera!
Isn't govt great?

I knew it!! I remember being pulled over in CA ..It was the summer of 1996. No seat belt. I told the officer “ I am wearing my seat belt.” I realized then that there was more to it than public safety.

A couple years ago when I lived in California, depending on which red light you ran it was up to $400 for the ticket. There are signs on most red lights showing how much it will coat you. Never figured out how they picked which ones were $300 and which were $400 but that's what the sign said. When I was leaving I was listening to the radio and they said they were going to drop the cost down because no one was paying the ticket. Go figure.

Now, at least according to these two articles, the fines are $475-$500.Jules wrote:A couple years ago when I lived in California, depending on which red light you ran it was up to $400 for the ticket.
