A song written by Tom T. Hall. It's a song about the one who got away. ;-)

Performed by the Japanese musician Kitaro.
Many years ago I spent a lot of time in Malaysia so this song has many pleasant memories for me.

This song doesn't say much, but it was the first [single] record that I ever bought.

No YouTube link, but here's the audio.

This is a track by the band Umphrey's McGee. They are sort of a Prog Rock / Jam Band type. Sort of inline with moe. They have a TON of great tracks, but I'll always listen to this one. The live version blows away the studio version.

A little known song from Johnny Cash. His album "The Sound of Johnny Cash" didn't sell too well, but it is one of my favorites. Cash didn't like this record because it reminded him of his days when he was taking too many pills and they took a toll on his voice. The LP was never released on CD, but all of the songs are available on one of the Bear Family collections. My older brother had the LP and I still remember the cover.

I've had a friend or two die WAY too young...so everytime I hear Rush's "Afterimage", it strikes a chord wih me.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man"

Jeff Healey Band "Angel Eyes" - I still wonder what the heck my wife sees in me.
Wonderful choices and Afterimage is an incredibly powerful song.

A friend introduced me to the Avett Brothers. From them, I discovered Mumford and Sons. It's amazing how that works.

The Easybeats - "Friday On My Mind"
This song seemed appropriate for the drive home today before the Labor Day weekend.

Monday morning feels so bad,
Ev'rybody seems to nag me
Coming Tuesday I feel better,
Even my old man looks good,
Wednesday just don't go,
Thursday goes too slow,
I've got Friday on my mind
