Handguns or Rifles?

Postby bizarrenormality » Wed Jan 02, 2013 8:05 pm

Anyone who has been reading gun forums for more than a week knows there are many proposals being floated to ban different kinds of guns. With multiple proposals on the table, there's opportunity for a Senator or Representative to vote against one gun ban and for another, saying they already voted against banning _______ guns!

Knowing all that, and remembering how the Republicans saved Obama from the fiscal cliff, if you could guarantee one and only one type of semiautomatic firearm escapes the ban this year, which would you choose? Please don't say we can derail every proposed ban, or we should try to save all guns or none. That's not the purpose of this poll or thread. I want to know Texas gun owners' priority ranking between keeping their semiautomatic handguns and keeping their semiautomatic rifles.

The poll will run until the inauguration.

sorry, realize this answer doesn't fit OP's parameters but under no circumstances am I willing to trade one type of gun for another. There is no "trade" to be had. They cannot have ANY of them. Period.

I would not accept EITHER, and I won't vote in the poll because I don't want gun-grabbers, who surely read these pages, to take the results as "proof" that gun owners are willing to accept "reasonable laws" to ban one single one of my guns. Not one.

Option #3, ban nothing, and except nothing less than ZERO intervention by congress.

Not voting becasue I am not willing to support either. Your poll is like your wife asking if the dress makes her look fat; there is no correct answer.
