My heart sank when I heard the story; the pastor said they bought-back a brand new AK for $200 from a young man that had a change of mind...then they destroyed it :cryin

Oh good, I've got a ROHM RG-10 revolver (worst gun ever made) that I've been looking to dump. $50 is about 10x what it's worth I figure. :evil2:

Just curious about something. Are they not violating federal law when they advertise and purchase firearms, on a commercial type level, with no FFL?

I am sure they are getting by because it is not purchased for commercial purposes but to destroy. Now if they tried to sell them instead of destroy them, they just might get dinged for it.

I've got an old Rohm .38 that belonged to my grandfather. It doesn't fire anymore (well, only 3 out of 6 rounds) due to a worn firing pin. But to me, it's the most valuable piece in my safe. It's the only thing I have that belonged to him.

Will there be people in a lot across the street buying guns instead of the people at the church? You think someone would bring a M1 Garand?

I think you may be a little late for this event.

Welcome to the forum. This event took place at the beginning of the year. I haven't heard if the Church will be doing a buy back this coming year but I doubt they will. Usually the firearms that show up at these things aren't worth much. I wouldn't think you would see a Garand.

Or $200 for a broke down old .22 semi-auto rifle... Hmm..

I don't like the "up to" language.

I'm going with $500. Bound to find a good deal.
I'll ask the person if it's a legal gun. Then call my cop buddy to run the number.
I'll offer twice the church's price. We should all go!!!

If I had the cash to open a booth to do my own buybacks...

Just noticed that. Must not have advertised as much as they did last year.
