It's really not hard. Here's how it works. Each issue is decided individually, without reference to any other idea. Since people should able to do whatever they want, abortion is good. It gives people more freedom and choices. Since guns kill people, they're bad, because killing people is bad. Abortion candidates aren't people, so there's logical consistency even though it's not required. Freedom of speech is all important, but some people are just too dense to handle it. So their voices should be drowned out. They can talk. (After all we have Freedom of Speech!) They just can't be heard. (After all stupidity shouldn't be promoted.)
