Fifth suspect arrested. Tried to cover up his involvement with the bombers, deleted items from his computer showing he supported their views. Had dinner with them the night of the bombing. Lied to investigators. Told friends that the bombing was justified.

What "involvement?" Supporting radical views isn't illegal. Having dinner with someone who subsequently performs a criminal act isn't illegal. Nor is having dinner with someone who performed a criminal act you don't know about....and the Feds are not charging him with prior knowledge or complicity. Telling friends he thinks the killing was justified may be abhorrent, but expressing abhorrent opinions isn't illegal either. Lying to investigators...yeah, illegal, but doesn't of itself suggest complicity, and it shouldn't be illegal. That's the bovine excrement charge they hit Martha Stewart with when they knew they couldn't make the insider trading charge stick. It's common practice now for the Feds to indict someone on trumped up charges, get a big publicity splash, then two or three years down the road drop all the charges but "lying" to get a "win," or the person is acquitted. This smells like another phoney "terrorism" arrest based on a bunch of trumped up charges that will likely end in acquittal, as have about 99% of the other phony stings and trumped up charges.

Just in case you missed it, here's what the article says:
But Matanov is not charged with participating in the bombings or knowing about them ahead of time, federal prosecutors said in a statement. And the indictment alleges that Matanov did not realize the brothers were the bombing suspects until April 18, when the FBI publicly released pictures of them.
So, it boils down to he was friends with the bombers, and when he found that out, he tried to hide this fact. So, essentially, he's being prosecuted for knowing people who committed a heinous crime. Hog hooey.

If someone presented themselves to me with questions as a non US law enforcement officer, my response would loosely translated to "get out of my face".

In a blunt opening statement at the nation's biggest terrorism trial in nearly 20 years, Tsarnaev's own lawyer flatly told a jury that the 21-year-old former college student committed the crime.

"It WAS him," said defense attorney Judy Clarke, one of the nation's foremost death-penalty specialists.
But his big mean older brother made him do it, so it's ok, right?
"The evidence will not establish and we will not argue that Tamerlan put a gun to Dzhokhar's head or that he forced him to join in the plan," Clarke said, "but you will hear evidence about the kind of influence that this older brother had."
Influence. Dzhokhar's just a mindless puddle of human flesh, traveling whichever way the wind blows.

Ummm, okay, can we just bring the needle in right now?

If he's admitting guilt can we skip the circus and get right to deciding whether he gets the needle or life without parole?

Al Qaeeda threatens more terror, if their terrorist rock star is executed.

They are on the ropes this J V team.

I think they should make his execution pay per view and use the money to arm patriots or feed the homeless or some other honorable cause.
