My best dental experience by far was having 4 wisdom teeth removed. I remember going in and I remember waking up in the car on the way home. Dead brain cells or not, that one gets my vote for "best ever"!

I haven't tried sedation dentistry yet, but I'm right on the edge of doing that..

Medicine is an interesting field. You pay for something. If it's done wrong, you get to pay to have it done again...

$700 for a new crown sounds pretty good.. I understand why people start doing "medical tourism".

The dentist did a root canal to let the gunk out and it literally exploded (sorry for the grossness) - but the relief was immediate and exquisite, and I've never feared a dentist since.
Remember that I said I have a high tolerance for pain? I had a tooth abscess. I couldn't afford to go to the dentist at the time, so I would run my finger across the gum to release the pus. Eventually the entire tooth rotted out and there was nothing left but a hole where the tooth used to be. Later in life, when I could afford a dentist, I had a bridge made for the missing tooth. I never felt more than mild discomfort from the abscessed tooth and no discomfort at all when pressing on the gum.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I had to use a root canal specialist in Houston once. He was great. Knew just how to inject the anesthetic so I didn't feel anything. Of course, I had to use him because my dentist messed up a root canal.
