Former New Orleans Mayor, Ray Nagin, Sentenced to 10 Years

Former New Orleans mayor, C. Ray Nagin, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on federal corruption charges today.

This is the jerk that had all the empty school busses but criticized the Federal Government not evacuating New Orleans fast enough.

He is the one that ordered all guns confiscated following Katrina and said New Orleans should be “chocolate” because that’s the way God wants it to be.

And Eddie Edwards is running for Congress.
Nothing new here.... Louisiana politics has been corrupt for a long time.

I hope Mr. Nagin enjoys his rest. I wonder what he'll be running for after he's released.

The term corrupt politics in Louisiana is redundant.

Could not have happened to a nicer guy.

This guy is something else. One of my favorite stories about him -

During Hurricane Katrina Pres Bush had flown to NOLA. Upon learning that there were no utilities or running water, he generously offered the use of AF 1's shower to Naquin.

With no regard for anyone else, Naquin camped out in the shower ignoring a few not so subtle hints that he was delaying the President & should hurry.

Finally an SSA banged on the door and told him if he didnt come out he would be taken out! :smilelol5:

Not sure about the 'chocolate' part in the first post.

I prefer the term 'Hershey Bar w/Nuts'. 90% chocolate, 10% nuts seems to be a more accurate term.
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

Nagin made the statement he wanted New Orleans to be chocolate. I remember.

We as black people, it's time, it's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild a New Orleans, the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans. And I don't care what people are saying Uptown or wherever they are. This city will be chocolate at the end of the day.

No, he was elected by former residents of New Orleans who are now residents of Houston.
