Anybody know anything more about this? It happened not too far from my house.

UPDATE:
Here is a link to a video explaining the incident. It includes the dashcam video narrated by the Grapevine PD. http://www.lawofficer.com/videos/2015/0 ... oting.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is more than just an explanation of the Grand Jury's No Bill. It's also a great teaching tool as to how a dangerous suspect can approach in a manner that looks benign, but is actually a tactical move. Watch, learn and teach others.

Remember, if a violent person doesn't have a gun, his plan may be to use yours. Don't let him. Remember the Tueller Principal also, especially if the potential assailant is stronger.

I was told that Grapevine PD does not issue its officers stun guns.

Mind Blown.

Without the video, this might have had a different outcome. With the video, it's obvious that the man was not following orders and was deliberately closing the distance between himself and the officer.

Charles, thanks for posting this video. This happened literally less than 5 minutes from my house, and we heard nothing about it until just now.

Good food for thought. An armed citizen can honorably cut and run. Police officers don't have quite so many options. They aren't there to escape the danger, they are there to stop it. If the first rule of gunfighting is really "have a gun," another rule that should rank highly is "go somewhere else" - at least for plain old citizens.
