I am not the author. Received in email today. Don't know who to credit.
Just posting. SCOTUS is making me want to puke. Disregard of law at the
"highest level". Pray fast before it's outlawed.

Mark this day, because today, by a vote based on personal opinion, five human beings reversed 4,000 years of Judeo-Christian-Muslim thought, making Gay Marriage the law of the land. “Hear ye! Hear ye!.... Evil is hereby declared Good!” Abortion (1973) and Gay Marriage (2015), two of the “sins which cry to heaven” according to both Jewish and Christian Scripture, are now constitutionally protected behavior. We have absorbed the culture of death into our being. The termination, prevention, and perversion of human life by the strong against the weak is our new normal. Abortion, gay marriage, transgenderism, euthanasia: each disregarding the common good, each rejecting God’s gifts as error, are hereby declared to be truth. Never before has wrong been so aggressively defended as being right; never before has right been so aggressively attacked as being wrong. Five human beings have decided to veto God. In the foul and fetid record of human crime, never before have so few, charged with the responsibility for doing good, been guilty of doing so much evil.

What are the immediate, practical effects of this change? Gender will now be a moral neutral, like blond hair and blue eyes. All sexual activity will be stripped of its moral component. The sexual morality narrative will cease to exist. Sexual behavior will be undifferentiated from all other physical needs. The list of man’s “morally neutral” physical needs will now be shelter, clothing, sleeping, eating, drinking, waste elimination, and sex.

What are the long term, cultural effects of this change? Except for the “Remnant”, the shrinking enclaves dedicated to the “old ways”, moral confusion will be the lingua franca, the common language among people. Because both “Marriage” and “Family” can now mean anything, they will both mean nothing. The fundamental cornerstones upon which human society has been built, over thousands of years, will fade into history. With the foundation gone, the house collapses. Human society as we know it will be replaced by a lesser order, or disorder, of some kind. The long-term human relationships which have bound us to each other and ordered our lives, generation after generation, these relationships which have taught us how to love and be loved, nurturing the children, will go the way of the dinosaur. Disorder and confusion will reign. Social chaos will give birth to political anarchy and disintegration.

It is a perverse and twisted mind who decides that his own personal opinion is more authoritative than God. The reader may dismiss this warning as an anachronism, a throw-back to medieval morality, an emotional and narrow-minded over-reaction to the new enlightened and progressive freedoms…… but mark this day, because this is the day we again harvest from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and begin constructing our new Tower of Babel. Those stories did not end well. Neither will ours.

Civil Unions = Non-Secular

SCOUTS ruling applies to the latter.

Then, Polygamy laws should be on the chopping block. If gays can marry, as a Muslim why I cannot marry up to 4 ladies at the same time. Ah, I will always be broke 4X!
Soon after, Incest laws would be terminated.

Yes, that's where we're headed. There is no legal argument that can be made that can overcome the ruling that love is the only criteria for marriage.

I kinda expected this thread to happen.

I, for one, am glad that personal liberties have been expanded in the ruling made by SCOTUS today. :patriot: :smash: :txflag:

I am Christian, but I am against blue laws - laws rooted in religion that force religious views on other people.

It hasn't affected my own marriage one bit in the hours since the ruling. I'll keep you guys posted if it ever does affect myself or my marriage.

Just as the anti's cried "blood in the streets" when concealed carry laws were getting passed, I feel this is the same sort of mongering. I wasn't around, but I imagine this was the same sort of mongering that occurred when the interracial marriage ban was struck down.

The best solution to this that would have worked for all sides would be getting the governments nose out of the "marriage" business. Substitute civil unions instead - then we can talk about equal rights in a rational manner. Pass the issue of marriage off to religious organizations that can marshal it out as they see fit.

Had the government done this, I'd never support any legislation around regulating rules within religion. Instead, we did what our constitution tells us not to do - co-mingle religion and government. Since we've done that AND we have a history of discriminatory behavior - including not allowing interracial marriage, I'm forced to choose a side.. And like the person above, I choose the side of more liberty. I've got zero issue with churches restricting who the clergy can marry...

And you guys that are against it, if it's not done by clergy, is it really what you consider a marriage anyway? My vote it no, it's just a civil union.. nothing to get exited over.

Personally, I don't feel any more gay today than any other day.. but I'll let you know if I change my mind. It really doesn't affect the population that seems to be most offended by it.

How about when more of the population turn gay and the rate of kids per family is less than 1. Surely enough we would be like Canada, that means 10,000,000 new immigrants per year. I just hope they do arrive the legal way.

I have yet to see a single post on how this directly effects anyone but the people getting married. The I dont like it excuse is completely non valid.
As far as the jews are concerned on the matter is was decided in 2006 for equal marrage rights for all with the exception of the orthdox jews
As far as the abortion statements the Talmud pretty much covers that clearly as well.
So many scream the constution but noone here will except the ruling Roe v Wade on the basis of the 9th and 14th amendments.
But boy we all go ape in support of the 2nd.

So I assume you're indicating that gay marriage might make more people turn gay and accelerate the decay. I don't follow the logic, but I can accept premise. What you're indicating is already happening minus the "more gays" part - the average number of children per household in the US is below sustainable a sustainable number. Personally, I think it's more about economics than anything else. It just costs too much to have and raise children and it's only getting more expensive. You really need 2 incomes these days and it's hard to raise kids with two working parents.

PS: Gay women can reproduce thanks to science. Gay men require a little more assistance and it's legally more complicated.

We already have an immigrant problem - we have for decades. I'm unsure of what this has to do with gay marriage - it's more about the economic factors. By economic factors, I mean those that make it beneficial to risk life to come to the US.. And the economic factors which support political campaigns. Ever notice we really haven't had any legislation enforced that goes after businesses that hire illegals? In Texas, it'd be an enforcement extravaganza, but we all just look the other way... That labor is big business and big profit. You and I get something out of it: Relatively inexpensive housing among other things... We all support it indirectly.

Beiruty, I might be feeling a little more gay now.. So maybe there is something to your theory.

Yeah, what I mean if gays can live married with no kids or even as you mentioned heterosexual couple do not want kids or could not afford kids. The whole society will suffer, so somehow, gay marriage may affect the whole society. It is all about acceptance of gays in the society and the legal ramification for kids and their rights.

As for me, I was raised in a conservative society. All the time, I felt uncomfortable when gays paraded almost naked on "main" street. However, I was in the camp in privacy it is NOT my business if Male A coupled Male B, Female x made out with Female x'.

Finally, marriage and raising a family are decoupled. And marriage is only a financial agreement and for tax purposes only.
1) First it was sexual liberalism and femism
2) Single moms are almost everywhere.
3) Stable marriages are less than 50%
4) Average marriage last no more than 6yrs
5) Kids from 4-6 unwed fathers
6) Change of sex for so-called transgenders, yesterday male runner is now a female model.
6) Homosexuals can marry.

I feel that society and its social norm are being tossed upside down. No wonder sooner or later, someone will invent the Terminator and call it a day.
