Weather in Denton county

Post by Richbirdhunter »

How did everyone do last night? We are fine here, but a semi got blown over last night in the Walmart parking lot on 3040 & business 121. The driver was laying down try to get some sleep and a car wash in Hicory Creek lost a wall.

Woke up to phone alerts followed by tornado sirens in Hickory Creek / Lake Dallas at 3:45a. We are less than a mile from the car wash that was damaged, I saw a few small trees down or broken over. We are building a new house here and I drove by to check on it. Was still too dark at 6:30a, but looked fine - fences still standing.

Tornado sirens woke us a bit after 03:00 in Keller. Had a good 5 minutes advance warning as the cell passed a mile or two east of us. 20 minutes of keeping low and the front was past. Quite a mess on the lawns and streets this morning. A few traffic lights out.

Thankfully no touchdowns nearby.

Heard some reports on the local RACES HAM of building damage/debris near Bell Helicopter in Hurst... No reports of injuries that I've heard.

Hope all y'all are equally safe.

ETA: Welllll...... I was just informed that NWS is confirming that a tornado touched down within a few hundred yards of my house. :eek6
