Bad Luck in Malibu

Post by WildBill »

MALIBU, Calif. - Los Angeles County authorities say a motorist who managed to get out of his SUV after it nearly went over
a cliff was then struck by a passing bus in Malibu. Sheriff's officials say the man was conscious and breathing when he was rushed
to a hospital following the two crashes Saturday. Investigators say the man lost control of his SUV, which slammed into a guardrail
and hung precariously over the side of the cliff. Officials say the man was disoriented and when he got out of the vehicle he stepped
into lanes of traffic and was struck by a tour bus.

Wow. You can say that was the luckiest day of that man's life, or the worst, depending on your perspective.

I am glad he made it.

He just used up all of his luck. Glad he wasn't killed but it sounds almost like a slapstick comedy movie.

That is in Malibu canyon. If you dont plan for that turnout you will get exactly that. Happens fairly often and there is zero shoulder. If he got out without looking he for sure was going to get nailed. Its a blind corner that people take very fast.

Drove that road every day for many years.

Me too. I know exactly where that turnout is. My mom just sold her Point Dume property last year.

So, anyone could make the same driving error if unfamiliar with the road.

Yikes!
