The departments can't afford it is such a whiney copout. My son is just a security patrol supervisor working his way through college and he purchased his own body cam and uploads the video at the end of each shift. It's not nearly the big deal people make it out to be. How in the world do they handle all of those dashcams they already have? How do private citizens handle dashcams?
The excuses are ridiculous. Where there is a will, there is a way. It's just not a priority because many officers resist it and they would rather have cool toys.
