Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Thursday made a final pitch to the Justice Department about why he should not be fired just 72 hours before his retirement, leaving Attorney General Jeff Sessions to decide the matter with a deadline rapidly approaching.

The decision could be consequential for McCabe’s financial future, as if he is fired, he could lose significant retirement benefits. The FBI office that handles employee discipline has recommended terminating the former deputy director over accusations he authorized disclosing sensitive information to a reporter and then lied about it.

I for one could never understand treating the pain of the children of others, as a joke. This as the children of that person, I never equated to the person themselves. No matter how much I despised both the Clintons and Obama, I would never look at their kids to attack, kinda thought that was a bit cowardly. But, I guess everyone to their own.

In case you haven't noticed, norms have changed. Enthics, morals, civility, and even decency don't seem to matter much anymore. Also, you're not talking about a "kid" but an adult very involved on the political scene.

Trump attacks the fairness of the Mueller probe. Drudge readers want Trump to fire Mueller.

Its been a year. There has been really no smoke let alone a smoking gun. They have an associate of Trump on lying under very questionable circumstances by the government, and financial crimes by another, but well before the election. No Russian collusion at all.

I've been waiting for Mueller to look into the obvious Russian collusion, but instead he is now looking into Trump's business. If Mueller had at least pretended to be impartial by hiring a few Republicans on his team or just took one tiny look into Uranium One or the Clinton foundation and gifts and speaking fees from Russia, I might think he was ok. But so far he seems to be running a partisan witch hunt.

I don't even remember now, what was so important that a Special Prosecutor was appointed in the first place. With Watergate it was a crime, the break-in of a political opponents office for spying. With Whitewater it was a failed Bank (insured by the US Government) and questionable loans made to the Clinton's. Here it is collusion with Russia. Far as I know that isn't even a crime. Bribery is a crime, but no one has even suggested bribery.

From my point of view it all seems now a political coup, an attempt to silence an honest election of a President by the American people.

If that happens, it will not end well for the country.
