Just taking their word for it, but this is from their website.

One hundred percent of Exchange earnings support Soldiers, Airmen and their families. Roughly two-thirds of Exchange earnings are paid to Army MWR and Air Force Services programs. In the past 10 years (2005-2015), the Exchange has distributed more than $2.4 billion for MWR to fund quality-of-life improvements. The Exchange retains the remaining one-third of annual earnings to construct new stores, modernize regional distribution centers and upgrade its worldwide network to operate retail stores.

They also do price matching.

As JakeTheSnake said, purchasing through the Exchange does benefit the troops. I've attached a page showing some ammo prices.

Just got my beta notice. Was not impressed with pricing. Do we really need a government agency competing with private business and I guess the argument is no sales tax?
