Retired Military, Yippee America and Happy Birthday!

#1

Post by DEB »

It being July 4th weekend. Out of curiosity, how many retired Military are on here? I personally served from Dec 1977 to Jan 1999, U.S. Army Enlisted, PVT-(twice) to 1SG. Armor (11E-19E) to Engineer (12F-12B). :tiphat: :cheers2:
Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt"

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

1982-2005, some variant of computer geek, with some acquisition manager and operational support time thrown in. Retired as a Major. The USAF has changed the AFSC numbers so many times I don't remember them all. Mostly worked with big computer-based weapons systems like AWACS, GPS, Peace Shield, GCCS.

Treating one variety of person as better or worse than others by accident of birth is morally indefensible.
