The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Re: Average age?
LOL I was 41 but that was when TX first pass the CHL law. (I may have been carrying before then, due to a stolen truck and then the thieves decided to try to break into the house before we could make it home. Back in 82).jason812 wrote:That would be interesting to see. Can't believe I waited until I was 36 but wanting to be able to protect my kids is what pushed me. In 3 years I haven't gone out in public without a pistol. Seems like a crazy idea now to not have one with me.flechero wrote:I'm now closer to 50 than 40... but the question I'd be more interested in was at what age did you get your CHL, now LTC. I was 30- and have had if for 16yrs. Although for the older people, it wasn't an option when they were young

Re: Average age?
I was motivated the same as you. I had just had my second kid, and was facing the likelihood of America electing Madame President in the upcoming 2016 election and the certain persecution that was to follow. I suddenly felt the need to buy guns and ammo and get licensed to carry. Even though the Madame President thing never happened, I'm so glad that I was faced with the possibility because it woke me up to the fact that I and my family were defenseless. I tell all of my young single friends at work that they should start buying guns before they get married. I wish that I had.jason812 wrote:That would be interesting to see. For comparison, here is the age distribution of the newest flow of LTC folks, as reported by DPS: https://www.dps.texas.gov/RSD/LTC/Repor ... Issued.pdf .
I was 46 when I got my license in 2008.

I was 28 when I got my CHL. I've since migrated age categories in the poll. :D
