FBI fails to do its duty, so law abiding citizens must have their 2nd Amendment rights infringed upon.Acting FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich met with lawmakers on the House Oversight and Government Reform and Judiciary committees Tuesday to discuss the missteps, which were revealed in the days after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.
Bowdich acknowledged that the FBI failed to follow its own protocol after it received a tip in January about the accused shooter, Nikolas Cruz, 19, and vowed to take corrective actions, according to a press release issued by Reps. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the chairmen of the Oversight and Judiciary committees, respectively.

Re: FBI admits it failed in FL shooting
To top it off, two SWAT officers from Miramar Police Department who were training in Coral Springs have been suspended for wanting to go in and help stop the shooter:
The memo told Gilbert and Schlosser that they acted “without the knowledge or authorization from your chain of command” and created an “officer safety situation due to dispatch not knowing your location or activity.”

I can understand that they didn't follow procedures and have to face disciplinary action for it. But in the face of Sheriff's department standing down for at least 4 minutes while the shooting was in progress - I think it shouldn't involve a suspension. The procedures for command structure and multiple jurisdictions only work if the leading agency is actually doing their job.

FBI fails to do it's duty so 17 Americans died. We always hear so much about all of the great people working for the FBI, well where are they? What punishment will be handed down to the individuals on our payroll that contributed to the death of 17 innocents? We need full disclosure of the identities of these worthless people that failed us. Is this going to be another Lois Lerner going on to a nice retirement?bblhd672 wrote: FBI fails to do its duty, so law abiding citizens must have their 2nd Amendment rights infringed upon.

Florida Passes gun control measures

The state House voted 67-50 to approve changes such as raising the legal age for buying rifles and imposing a three-day waiting period for all gun sales. The measure also allows for the arming of some school personnel.
The vote reflected a mix of support and opposition from both Republicans and Democrats, and GOP Gov. Rick Scott has not indicated whether he will sign it,

Let's see, where else has failure to follow law or protocol resulted in the deaths of innocent citizens......Sutherland Springs where the Air Force failed to follow the law. Yet no one in the Air Force has faced criminal charges for failing to follow law.

It goes back at least to 1989, with the Stockton CA schoolyard shooting.anygunanywhere wrote:Let's see, where else has failure to follow law or protocol resulted in the deaths of innocent citizens......Sutherland Springs where the Air Force failed to follow the law. Again, 10 years later, at Columbine:
It's a repeating problem. It's not a factor in every event, but it's less than rare.A decade after Stockton, the law enforcement system failed again at Columbine High School. The year before Columbine, in the spring of 1998, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office had prepared an affidavit to ask for a search warrant for the home of one of the criminals. The affidavit was based on his published death threats on the Internet, and on the discovery—in a park a mile and half from his home—of bombs like the ones that he bragged about making. The fact of the never-executed search was unknown to the public until two years after Columbine, when Sixty Minutes II uncovered the affidavit by using Colorado's Open Record Act. Why the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office dropped the matter remains a mystery. The Office admitted in court that it had shredded many of its Columbine documents.

The 2A community needs to focus on the inherent and widespread FAILURE of governments nationwide to enforce laws that result in the death, injury, or victimization of any citizen. With respect to the so-called sanctuary city/state fiasco, these efforts are willful and intentional and must be squashed. We as a group have a grand opportunity to turn the tables on the antis by our focus on insisting that all laws be enforced and that no further laws be enacted until the existing laws are enforced.
