BUMPER STICKERS

#1

Post by CWOOD »

EDITED TO ADD: In seeing how this thread is going, I wanted to clarify my intent as I probably should have at the outset. I was hoping to foster some humorous additions of "bumber sticker" humor or commentary. The two I came up with were just my poor attempts at that. I invite others of this clever group to add your own and don't feel confined to just one party. In Washington there are plenty of things to lampoon on ALL sides of the political spectrum. I look forward to your witty contributions. Thanks...and now back to your regularlly scheduled thread.

I hope this can be fun.

Sorry, that's all I have. Hope you all can do better.

For official campaign stuff on the cheap, go to http://www.johnmccain.com/ and click on "Get the Gear."

'Course, we can get more creative here than the official site...

No, but there are some McCain-Palin items as of last weekend. ;-) Bumper stickers, buttons, and yard signs, but I'm not sure what else.

The downside that has me scratching my head is that the site lists items purchased as shipping in "one to two weeks." :headscratch We have less than seven weeks to the start of early voting. You'd think they'd be a little less lackadaisical about getting stuff out the door to support the campaign.

Oh, and when I said, "on the cheap," it was in reference to the bumper stickers. The shirts and clothing are pricey.

I ordered a couple of bumper stickers from Cafepress on 8/30 and got an email confirming that they had been mailed on 9/1 (probably today).

They read McCain Palin 08 with Palin in large, red letters and McCain in much smaller print.

It's the same one Bart uses in his sig line.

It looks like both candidates are courting the "Green" vote.

I saw one today - "Obamamos". I'd guess that's something like "our Obama", though frankly, I'm not sure if that fer him, or agin him.

I saw that too and it didn't make sense. I thought it was a reference to vamanos, which I also thought meant "leave" in Spanish. Apparently it actually means "Let's go". Now I'm even more confused! It seems that living in San Antonio has me seeing Spanish in everything these days.

I'm still looking for the origins of this one; my wife has actually agreed to let me put it on the car if I can find it.
