A quick read gives me the impression that carrying for self defense is only allowed on your own property. That's not very helpful.

Gee, military and law enforcement can carry for personal protection but us peasants can only carry for hunting and target shooting? Sorry, but do not care for anything phrased like that.

It is the law in TX, one can open carry a handgun while hunting, target shooting, or from/to said places and to/from car/house.

Read a bit further....

visible or in a scabbard, case or with a sling designed for carrying
firearms that is wholly or partially visible and the person is
eighteen (18) years of age or older. Any person who carries a
firearm in the manner provided for in this paragraph shall be
prohibited from carrying the firearm into any of the places
prescribed in subsection A of Se

Sure... You said.. (emphasis added)
Jumping Frog wrote:A quick read gives me the impression that carrying for self defense is only allowed on your own property. That's not very helpful.
But... Section 7 says that is not correct...
The way I read section 7... anyone 18 and over can carry anywhere not specifically prohibited.

Did I miss something? It looks to me that Section 7 stands on its own and is not an extension or condition on section 6...
Could be I read that wrong.... :confused5
A. A person shall be permitted to carry loaded and unloaded
shotguns, rifles and pistols, open and not concealed and without a
handgun license as authorized by the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act
pursuant to the following conditions:
