Wonder if the senate will now follow suit, since the House sent a pretty strong message back to the governor..

The Oklahoma House of Representatives has voted to override Governor Mary Fallin’s veto of House Bill 2461, the first time in state history that a Republican majority has overridden its own party governor. According to sources the state Senate is unwilling to follow the same path as the state House.

Authored in the House by state Rep. Mike Turner, Edmond-82 (R), and in the Senate by state Sen. Nathan Dahm, Broken Arrow-33 (R), HB 2461 would require that a chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) sign an application for the transfer of any item regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA) within fifteen days if the applicant is not prohibited by law from receiving it.
House Bill 2461 will go to the state Senate where a two-thirds vote would be required to complete the veto override. The bill initially passed the Senate by a vote of 46-0 on April 22.
We need a similar bill. Especially important now that the BATF-er's are making the corporation/trust route to holding NFA weapons null and void. If every human involved in the corporation or trust must be personally investigated and now require LEO sign-off, then there is zero recourse to anyone who resides in a county where the sheriff categorically refuses to sign.

There are a little over 3,000 counties in the United States (I guess it must be closer to 3500 if you are counting Oslammer's extra 7 states). Every sheriff should be required to sign if the person is not disqualified to possess firearms
