Direct Energy is moving corporate HQ to Houston from Toronto. We plan to hire 200 - 300 people in Houston as part of the move to replace jobs lost up north. Many of the jobs will be in IS/IT and accounting/finance but there are also generic office jobs.

All you Canadians moving to Houston -- leave behind your snow shovels, snow blowers, etc.

Keep your ice scrapers in the car and bring your sweaters. In Houston, the temperature outside might be in the 30s, but buildings are usually about 22 to 25. Cold enough to hang meat.

Also, mark your calendars for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, set for 26 Feb. through 17 March.
Calgary Stampede cowboys come down to compete. RodeoHouston is the world's largest.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm not Canadian and Direct Energy already has a large office in Houston. However with the HQ move there's over 90 jobs openibgs in Houston on the website now with more to come over the year as the move progresses.

There's also a few craft job such as HVAC in Houston and others in diffrent regions around the state.
