Position Overview Austin Energy requires the services of one (1) Business Systems Analyst, hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Business Analyst 3, Core, and the specifications outlined in this document for Austin Energy.
Responsibilities The selected BSA will assist with a newly approved technology project using PMBOK methodologies. The BSA will report to the AE Information Technology PMO BSA Supervisor.

Services to be performed may include, but not be limited to the following:
. Review, analyze, and evaluates business systems and user needs.
. Perform Business Process Reengineering and identify new applications of technology to business to make the business more effective.
. Perform Business Process mapping.
. Prepare solution options, risk identification, and gap analysis.
. Develop training manuals/materials.
. Prepare and document functional specifications and assist in developing technical specifications.
. Work for IT, business personnel, and external vendors to understand and implement requirements.

The Austin Energy Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Project includes the following high level activities:
Identify requirements for the data warehouse, including identification of all data needed in the warehouse
Create project charter, plan, and other project artifacts
Implement data warehouse
Implement business intelligence and reporting tool
Implement other software required to support data warehouse and business intelligence tool
Work with IT division and business unites to identify staffing needs for both project and operations
Manage project budget and any contract required by the project
Requirements Minimum Requirements
3 Performed a lead Business Analyst role in one or more Data Warehouse & Business
10 . Skill in identifying and documenting business functional and technical requirements and activities for application development as evidenced by previous work-related experience
. Knowledge of organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
. Skill in performing structured business analysis on medium to large projects
. Skill in analysis, problem solving, critical thinking and decision making
. Skill in teamwork, communication, innovation, adaptability, and decision making, along with a customer focus, results orientation, and business sense.
. Skill in business or technical writing as evidenced by previous work-related experience
. Ability to recognize a problem, not solve it.
. Comfortable with tight dealines.
. Unwavering focus on details and quality.
. Proficient in MS Word and Visio.

5 Prior experience working in BI projects such reporting, scoreacards, dashboards & analytics
5 Knowledgeable in the Business Inteligence and Performance Management technolgoies
5 Prior working with MIcroStrategy, business Objects and InfoSphere tool sets
2 Prior experience working with Data Quality, BI Portal and OLAP cubes
2 Prior experience working with Data Warehouse, Data Marts & Operational Data Stores
2 Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Project Server and Sharepoint
