O'Donnell wins

#1

Post by ELB »

Interesting. Christine O'Donnell wins Republican primary for one of Delaware' senate seat, against Rep Mike Castle, apparent RINO.

If I understand correctly, a month ago nobody in Delaware knew who she was, Castle had been in politics forever and had support from the state party apparatus. When they did know who she was she was behind by double digits in the polls. She picked up endorsements from Tea Partiers, Sarah P., De Mint, and the NRA (just this past Saturday I think). (Castle is anti-gun).

Supposedly this guarantees her Democratic opponent (a greenie marxist, I read) will win in November. But of course, Castle was a shoo-in a couple weeks ago.

Will be an interesting November.

oops, forgot the link.

Interesting development. If she can win in the general, it will put to rest some of those arguments that Tea Party supported candidates can't win against "moderate" Republicans or Democrats ("moderate" being code for "liberal").

I agree TAM. She's got a long tough road ahead of her.

According to Fox news right now, the RNC will not support her. In the grander scheme of things, that may be good. She will have an uphill battle and will have to do a better job of answers questions about her financial past than she has done to date.

This will be a very interesting race to watch. I hope she gets some expert help in the the next 40 odd days.

I hope that backfires big time on the RINO party. As in, she wins and opposes their socialist agenda.

We'll see. You may be right but this is going to be a different kind of a year, election-wise
Who would have thunk that Ted Kennedy's seat would be occupied by an "R"?

Even if a Democrat wins - so what?

From what I've read, Mike Castle, the pro-cap-and-tax, anti-RKBA RINO from the Arlen Specter wing of the GOP wasn't worth spit anyway.

I would suggest that "so what" is that if a Democrat wins the general election, this could easily cost the Republicans control of the senate -- her victory in the primary might well be a classic Pyrrhic victory. I cannot find the link, but I did see somewhere that Karl Rove agrees. It may have been on Fox news.

We'll see.

Why Pyrrhic? If Castle won the primary and then won the election, the Republicans would have elected a Democrat. If that isn't Pyrrhic, I don't know what is. At least this way the people have a choice. If they choose stupidly, at least they've chosen. Besides a green socialist leftie may be too far to the left, even for Delawarens, in the present climate.

It's time for the Republican party to wake up. Either they stop being Democrap-lite, or they will cease to exist.

This could be the first drop in the storm where the Tea Party actually starts turning alot of the entrenched garbage we call Congress out on their behinds.

As to the 2A, lets see how good ole Mike does: http://www.ontheissues.org/House/Michae ... ontrol.htm

Has an F rating from the NRA and has expressed support for reinstating the failed assault weapons ban.

If we were going to send a leftie to the Senate from Delaware, it might as well be the leftie with the D behind their name so they can stop claiming "bipartisan support" on bills when people like snow, collins and CASTLE vote with the dems.

As to "oh she could never win"...she wasnt supposed to be able to win against castle either. Man I wish some of you guys would just tell us who's going to win every race so we could stop holding these silly elections to express the peoples will! "rlol"
