So when in 2011 will Gov. Brown be helping to get the Castle doctrine and universal CHL reciprocity passed in CA? I'm all for a having more governmental leaders with pro 2A/RKBA stances but it is not much use if it doesn't result in positive actions.

The problem with a pimple is that if you aren't careful it eventually ends up all over everyone.

That was NOT an unintended aspect of the analogy. Given Washington's recent propensity to bail out every dog and his brother AND the "true blue" voting support that CA voters seem desperate to provide, I fully expect that any financial meltdown in CA DOES get all over the rest of us. It is just like the housing mess. I just love subsidizing people to live in houses that they could not afford to buy in the first place. I can only hope that the new US House members will not give me the honor of subsidizing all of the misguided spending that CA has been doing - and seems anxious to continue doing. I'm only slightly hopeful that isn't going to happen.

Quite. I find myself in sympathy with Dr. Jerry Pournelle - any entity that is "too big to fail" should be broken up forthwith.

To tell you the truth, I don't quite understand his change -- and don't trust it.
He's best as a pure politician, but not as upfront about it as a Byrd or Moynihan (both of whom I greatly respected, because they never pretended to be anything but pro politicians, and were good at it).
