Judge won't allow Holder appeal now in contempt case
A federal judge has refused Attorney General Eric Holder's request that he be allowed to proceed now with an appeal in a case where the House of Representatives is seeking to enforce subpoenas for documents related to the controversial Operation Fast and Furious gun investigation.

In a ruling Monday afternoon, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson said her September 30 ruling rejecting Holder's request to dismiss the lawsuit was not such a close call that it deserved immediate review from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

"While the Court agrees with defendant’s characterization of the matter as significant, that is not the test," Jackson wrote in her new four-page decision (posted here). "

Jackson's latest ruling means it is likely the Justice Department will have to produce a detailed log of what was withheld from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and why.

The "Kenny Stabler" ploy, just don't let the clock run out.

Keep digging and maybe they will get somewhere. I wonder what other delays and obfuscations Holder can employ. The wheels of Lady Justice are turning far too slowly on this....

Situations such as this give me no faith at all in the justice system. Even if on some miracle he is convicted he will only receive some 10 hours of community service or something similar. No real sentence will be delivered.

I'm sure most of the details have already been purged. Any American Citizen that has any confidence in the Federal Government as being remotely "for the people" or "honest" are greatly disillusioned.

Another Sandy Berger papers stuffed in your pants outcome. 50k fine (probably paid for by the DNC) and 100 hours of community service. This beast we call a Federal Government is a joke. Unfortunately the joke is on us...

It would seem many think 'Holder' is an adherent to the rule of law and are outraged he doesn't do that.

Please, stop being outraged.

This guy is another who's bought into Saul Alinskys disgusting plan.

Lie, cheat, whatever it takes, to make whatever goal dreadful happen...

He, Obama, Pelosi, Harry Reid, and the rest of those who hate America will continue their their march upon America until we vote them out of office.

Adding insult to injury, a federal judge just ruled that conservative groups whose 501c apps were illegally and unconstitutionally held up by the IRS no longer have a case since the IRS has finally granted their status. http://dailysignal.com/2014/10/23/judge ... ium=social" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So the government can abuse you all they want, and when you sue, all they have to do is grant your initial request and they get off scot free.

If what's going on in our government these days doesn't trouble you greatly, then you need to get your brain checked.

We don't have a government. Government implies law, and respect for the law. What we have a re lawless thugs, running an administrative state. Nobody actually governs any more. Governance is hard, and requires people of superior vision and understanding.

Well, the Vaughn Index document has been produced, and among those items over which Obama is asserting executive privilege are emails between Eric Holder and his wife, which concern what happened with Fast & Furious.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2014/ ... rs-wife-2/
The document details the Attorney General Holder’s personal involvement in managing the Justice Department’s strategy on media and Congressional investigations into the Fast and Furious scandal. Notably, the document discloses that emails between Attorney General Holder and his wife Sharon Malone – as well as his mother – are being withheld under an extraordinary claim of executive privilege as well as a dubious claim of deliberative process privilege under the Freedom of Information Act. The “First Lady of the Justice Department” is a physician and not a government employee.
Get that?

Holder's email communications with his wife and his mother, neither of whom are government employees, but which concern conversations about Fast & Furious, are being hidden by Obutthead's executive privilege claim.

Like I said. We don't have government. We have an administrative state, the chief administrators of which are lawless thugs.

I'm certain the constitution assures Citizen's Privileges that can be utilized in time of need.

Justice Department officials provided House investigators with thousands of documents related to Operation Fast and Furious that President Obama had previously claimed were exempt from congressional review.

In an “election eve dump,” as House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) put it, DOJ handed over 64,280 pages of documents, a release that is still only a partial fulfillment of the committee’s request.

“This production is nonetheless a victory for the legislative branch, a victory for transparency, and a victory for efforts to check Executive Branch power,” Issa said of the release.
We will hopefully see things start falling apart at an accelerated rate for Obama's thugocracy.
