Austin-area gun store ransacked again by burglars

#1

Post by Steve5115 »

Police are still searching for six men who stole firearms at a gun store in Hutto, which is near Austin in central Texas.

Authorities say the thieves took 10 to 15 shotguns and rifles in less than 30 seconds.

Taking rifles and shotguns instead of handguns is disturbing.

I wonder if people who steal firearms know that is a federal crime. When you are sentenced to 10 years in a federal prison, it 10 X 365 days.

Were there bars on the windows? I didn't notice any where the thieves were going in and out. Most smaller gun stores I've seen always had bars on the windows, so as to force thieves to make more of an effort to break in, and of course, hopefully cause more noise, alerting people.

I saw that on the News last night, looked like a group of 7 or more guys,I thought it really odd them taking long guns instead of handguns too, First thought perhaps they figured long guns wee more expensive, but then thought Remington shotgun versus 10911 value ... so I don't know what they were thinking, unless handguns were in a safe and long guns just on display secured by a cable or chain one of them cut maybe. I didn't see burglar bars on the window they entered.

I wonder how often Federal charges are brought in firearms thefts?

They may start becoming more common

"Hollis A. Daniels, 19, has been charged with capital murder of a peace officer and is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $5 million bond. On top of the capital murder charge, Daniels is now facing federal gun charges. A federal grand jury charged him with possession of a stolen firearm."

I heard somewhere that Antifa has something planned in Austin for November 4. Wonder if there might be some connection.

It seems that late night robberies of gun stores has been increasing the last year or so, or its just being reported more prominently. Either way, gun stores need to be more serious about security. Not having bars on an easily broken window? And its the SECOND robbery of this location within three weeks? :banghead:
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager
