Federal judge upholds Massachusetts assault weapons ban

More flawed logic suggesting that the second amendment is solely for sporting purposes...

http://thehill.com/regulation/court-bat ... eapons-ban
U.S. District Judge William Young said in his ruling that the firearms and large magazines banned by the state in 1998 are “not within the scope of the personal right to ‘bear Arms’ under the Second Amendment.”

The features of a military-style rifle are "designed and intended to be particularly suitable for combat rather than sporting applications," Young wrote.

When I think of "weapons of war", I think of mortars, 50 Cal machine guns, land mines, AT-4, all missle realated stuff etc. Geez, even .308 bolt action is used by snipers, aren't they?

If my AR-15 Is a weapon of war and is the same as burst mode, is my wife's car a race car and thus not street legal??? :???:

Let the disarmament of the citizens begin. May as well just flat out say "You guys get muskets but they must be registered, no modern muzzleloaders at all and we'll keep the good stuff to prevent any chance of a revolt at all." so much for: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

That judge needs to come to Texas and hunt feral hogs. Make him use a bolt action as they are charging you.

Nope, a muzzleloader.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

But it's gotta be a flint lock and can't carry it loaded because you know...safety.

I'd like to make a contempt of society citation and send to the idiot with a note saying he has been found guilty of contempt of society as well as abject ignorance of the subject matter. I'm sure if I was in his courtroom I'd be charged with contempt also. It might be worth it to get it into the record.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

Sadly, despite Heller, the Scotus has refused to strike down previous AR15 bans. At least two cases come to mind---one from another Illinois town/city and another from the State of Maryland.

We need some more friendly second amendment judges on the court--my gut tells me Ginsburg, Sotomayor, and Kagan all hate guns and they are more than happy to uphold AR15 bans.
Please know and follow the rules of firearms safety.
