A guy decides to commit suicide. Unfortunately he wants to take people with him. Kills his parents, then murders two Sheriff’s deputies who are sent on a welfare check of the parents.

RIP.

Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Tourist city Asherville NC is apparently not doing so well after it “defunded the police” last September.

This man was shot ten times.in what the funded part of the police said was rising violence.

They apparently had to publish a list of things they won’t respond to now due to the shortage of police.

It amazes me that the cop then tries to save the guys life. I could never be a cop. I would just leave him laying there. The man just tried to kill me.

Shotgun, ouch. Standing in front yard with it when police arrived. Unlike Austin they did not kill him.

Armed CHL woman shoots road rage 'aggressor' trying to force his way into her car: DA

Not charged. Don’t want you to be a vigilante says DA, but she had a right to protect herself.

Unarmed utility worker with little ID and no uniform who also didnt apparently speak English at all or not very well was shot and killed by a home owner in rural NC after he didnt leave the property and became agitated with the homeowner who is an active duty US special ops officer. He was taking pictures of utility poles on or near the officers property, which may have included photos of his children in the background. Very likely the utility poles were in an easement or on property owned by the utility company. Most likely the dead man worked for a subcontractor for the utility company. He may have been a former Russian or Ukrainian soldier.

The officer was no billed due to states stand your ground law.

I would say the officer was lucky to be no billed.

Some random guy claiming to be a utility worker, wearing flip flops and shorts.... at dusk... not wearing any identifying badges or safety clothing... with no prior notice to the property owner... just some random guy on my property.... trespassing after I tell him to leave..... gets aggressive with me and refuses to leave......

Where in his utility worker training manual did it train him to be aggressive with property owners who tell him to leave?

Where in his sane personal opinion did he decide to get aggressive with a homeowner instead of retreating and calling for guidance from his employer?

Dude was asking for a problem. Unfortunately, tragically, he found it. I would hate to be either person in this situation. No Bill seems the correct outcome given what I have read about it... but... I'm open to changing my opinion upon new information.
