Getting started with the NRA?

#1

Post by Mr.ViperBoa »

Hello all. I recently joined the NRA. I joined on the 1st or 2nd of January, The website said it takes about 2 weeks to get your new members package in the mail. It is the 14th now and I still haven't received anything. Should I be worried or should I wait it out longer? :???:

Yep, just about the time I started getting worried is when my packet arrived.

Thanks for the replies. I get impatient sometimes. I know my dad told me he signed up one time at a booth at a gun show and never got anything back in the mail.
That was years ago but I guess I just get a little paranoid lol. :shock:

Told you. :mrgreen:

Thanks for joining. The NRA needs the support of as many people as possible to continue the never ending fight to preserve our 2A rights that was afforded to us by our founding fathers and framers of this great nation.

I found this page to be helpful..
https://www.nramemberservices.org/faq.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Below are 3 of the many Q/A's copy/pasted from that page..

Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?
A: Simply email us at membership@nrahq.org or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

Q: I applied for membership online but I haven't heard anything. What's going on?
A: When you submitted your online application, did you receive an email receipt verification? If yes, everything is in order and your membership is in processing. If no, please email us at membership@nrahq.org and we will be happy to verify your new membership. Please note that Spam filters can prevent you from receiving the email receipt verification.

Q: I just joined online, what is my NRA member number?
A: Simply email us at membership@nrahq.org and include your full name along with your complete mailing address. Online transactions can take 3-5 days to post to our viewable records. Once the information has posted, we will email your NRA member number to you.

RoyGBiv - THANK YOU! for the FAQs. That first one (Do Not Promote) is great. I really dislike the waste of money they have to have, sending me all those mailings that I promptly recycle. Much better to let them spend the money on something more useful.
