I want to order a gun online but I've heard recieving FFL will charge sales tax on my weapon. Has anyone had this happen to them? Is this business practice legit?

Never had sales tax charged on the weapon or the transfer fee for that matter.

No state sales tax for transfers.

The dealer didn't sell it to you and he is only providing a service.

If they don't collect the sales tax on the gun, you're legally required to submit it yourself.

I am not required to collect sales tax but legally the buyer is supposed to pay it themselves.

It is not legit, but it is done.

Use this FFL finder:

http://www.gunbroker.com/FFL/DealerNetwork.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If they state that they charge tax, don't use them.
