I am an Endowed member so I called the NRA and was told I could gave him a Life membership for $300. He has an Email surprise when he gets home tonight.

That is the 'official' program offered by the NRA. However, as in years past, they have been accepting referrals of non-family/friends.

Quite a few forum members have taken advantage of this to become Life members.

Congratulations on enrolling your son!

Excellent!

You may want to look into a Texas Life Hunting license as well.

Good for you! I got our last daughter a life membership last week after getting a phone call to upgrade to Endowment and asked about upgrading her instead. I could only afford her, so I'm still at Life Member, but I did give a Military Membership :patriot: donation so, hopefully whoever gets that will continue on their own.

An older thread, but what the heck.....

We've bought Life Memberships for each of our kids. We can remember when we were younger, the budget could only stretch so far, so just the annual dues were challenge enough to keep up with. Now, with the kids grown and gone I'm at "Benefactor" level, so we decided that we'd "pop" for each of the kids. They're also told that we expect them to do it for THEIR kids down the road.

So....there are now 4 generations of our family that are/have been Life members - and that's a GOOD thing in my book.

I did the same thing for my son and daughter as well. My son got his at age 3 weeks, and my daughter at age 3(better late than never). I'm hopeful that they will both have the gun bug like thier old man.
Best advice I was ever given- Don't mess with the dog while he's eatin'.
