Deputy has wierd accident at 4 am at his birthday party
Police officers are human like everyone else. So they can have weird accidents with guns at 4 am at their own birthday parties.

Caution don't read any further, unless you like to cringe.
Another gun going off, but this time its a shotgun with the hand over the end of the barrel.
Investigators suspect alcohol was involved.

Investigators are pretty sure alcohol was involved.

I can think of a few....though probably not the ones they are looking at.Investigators will look into whether the partying officers violated any rules.

Some parents say it is toy guns that make boys warlike. But give a boy a rubber duck and he will seize its neck like the butt of a pistol and shout "Bang!"......George Will

Yea those shotguns have a tendency to discharge when picked up with your hand over the barrel.

No, it has to be a fake news report. After all, the gun control group has consistently said that those kinds of accidents happen to us civilians who are too dumb to handle guns. A police officer would never have this kind of accident since they are all highly trained and are the only ones, other than the military ( but only in the battlefield, need to be disarmed when they get home due to PTSD) that should have guns.philip964 wrote:Police officers are human like everyone else. I was immediately reminded of this story (copied, pasted & pared down):
A Microsoft support tech joined the Army. At the rifle range, he fired several shots at the target. The report came from the target area that all of his attempts had completely missed. The tech looked at his rifle and then at the target. He placed his finger over the end of the rifle barrel and squeezed the trigger with his other hand. The end of his finger was blown off. He yelled toward the target area, "It's leaving here just fine; the trouble must be at your end!"

He pressed the trigger and it fired. It looks like it passed the function test.

It was probably an "automatic" shotgun.txhighlander wrote:Yea those shotguns have a tendency to discharge when picked up with your hand over the barrel.

Maybe he was trying to smother it to keep it from going off.

What made me cringe was walking in on a .45 caliber emasculation. Alcohol and 12 O'Clock carry were involved in that little tidbit.philip964 wrote:Police officers are human like everyone else. So they can have weird accidents with guns at 4 am at their own birthday parties.
