Interesting.

I think I could condense the class to 4 hours, however I have had renewal students that don't remember a thing from their previous instruction.

I guess that is why we have bad drivers that don't know the "Rules of the road".

If HB 48 passes, what will be the process for renewal?

If passed, will HB's 47 & 48 change any Reciprocity by other States?

I assume it will be the same as for the current 3rd Renewal which is pay your money to the State, complete the online application process and wait for your license to arrive. Not sure what the "and more" may be, but it's gotta be good!

According to the status report, the "and more" appears to be the ability to continue carrying on an expired license as long as you've applied for your renewal, and haven't been informed that your renewal was denied.

Dropping the renewal class makes sense. In my circle of friends, we have licenses from six different states. Texas is the only state with a renewal class.

It should make the CHL Instructors happy too......

They loose the current renewal class money, but the shortening of the initial to 4 hours should allow them to schedule 2 classes a day!

Not sure how that will work out for Reciprocity.
