time frame question...

#1

Post by psiryd2000 »

ok everyone, i have a question on the time frame for getting your chl. I took the class back in July of 2011.A few months later I thought my wife had thrown out my paperwork while we moved into our new house. I just found my paperwork in a box in my closet. Ive heard you have 2 years to apply AFTER taking the course. Is this true? if so, i will be applying for it tonight. Thanks

You have one year from the date of the CHL-100 that is signed by your instructor. Sorry.

You have up to 2 years from the date of your training to submit your documents to DPS. If you paid an online application fee, that online fee is only good for 1 year.

Infoman FTW!

CHL-100 is good for 2 years. Online app is good for 1.

This is the correct answer. The CHL-100 for a NEW applicant is valid for two years. (Renewal applicants are good for 6months). The fee paid to DPS is good for one year.
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."
