"We call DPS for that"

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

"We call DPS for that"

#1

Post by jmra »

Was at the Dallas Market Hall show last week. Near the exit a vendor had a number of fire pits for sale. I asked if I could take a picture to show my wife to which he said no problem. Having heard a number of announcements about no pics and standing next to two officers, I turned and advised the officers that the vendor had said it was ok for me to take pics.
They smiled and said go ahead. A friend that was with me asked loudly why I had bothered asking the officers. I responded loudly and said I wanted to avoid being spread eagle against the wall while undergoing a cavity search.
At that point one of the officers stepped over and calmly stated, "We call DPS for that".

Humor, a policy statement, reaffirmation of an oath of office, and condemnation of another's unlawful action all rolled into one.

Brilliant!

And that was why they said it.
