I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess those weren't academic scholarships.

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

So does the collective applaude or condemn the actions of the House Freedom Caucus this week? I don't think any bills I cared about have a snowball's chance any longer, so I'm happy to see somebody stand up to Straus and throw a wrench in the works. Besides, I think more Texas agencies should get r...

Re: HB1911 Com Substitute

Guys, please keep in mind there are still bills being discussed and there are antis that scan this forum looking for little tidbits that they can use to point out how rabid 2nd Amendment supporters are. What are they going to do? Run off and tell Straus that I won't vote for politicians who won't v...

7.62x39 AR

AKs used to be cheap. A budget RomAK was half the price of a budget AR. Now prices are reversed, with basic ARs selling for less than AKs. That got me thinking about 7.62x39 AR rifles. If I am not going to suppress the rifle, 300BLK and 7.62x39 softpoints Iook like they have similar ballistics. Howe...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

I emailed my representative, J. D. Sheffield, about it last spring and never received a reply. That tells me where he stands. :iagree: "How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual… as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an ...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees

I know a few people personally who haven't gotten their LTC due to the cost. This bill reducing the fees will allow them and many others to get their plastic. Not sure that will make that big of an impact, personally. I agree. I think the cost of the license is an excuse not the real reason. Maybe ...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?

They didn't vote on the floor. That's true. But Beruity proposed asking each candidate at election time if they would co-author or sponsor a bill similar to HB 560. I think that is unnecessary and possibly misleading. What politicians say to get our votes doesn't always match what they do in office....

"I don't like that I can't carry more places, so I'll give up the ability to legally carry outside my car, home or property under my control." He can carry a rifle without a license and depending where he goes, it's a good possibility he'll have to disarm less often than a LTC carrying a ...
