Re: Alternate Comms

Not meaning to hijack the thread or anything but I have a ham radio related question. Decades ago when I was a wee teenager I got my ham radio license. I ended up eventually expiring past the renewal and renewal grace period. Checking the registry it still shows my name on the original call sign tho...

Re: What Can Someone Tell Me About A Tavor

I have a Tavor SAR and I absolutely love it, despite some of it's cons. If you do get one and it ends up becoming a favorite, I would highly recommend taking the IWI Tavor Operator classes. I did the Tavor 1 and it's totally worth it. Pros: The weight is biased rearward so it's more comfortable to h...

Re: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick attacks NRA and Supports expanded background checks

This disappoints me but I did have an idea in my head about this whole background check "we have to do something" thing. What if instead of mandatory background checks between private persons, they were simply incentivised similar to what was recently done with 30.06 signs where there are...

Re: WACO TACTICAL FITNESS BIATHLON OCT 12

A scope is not required, I know of competitors who have used Red dots effectively and open sights as well. You need exposure to long ranges because I have seen 20 mph cross winds during the event and the longer range targets get tricky then. You need to know hold overs and range estimation. maybe y...

Re: WACO TACTICAL FITNESS BIATHLON OCT 12

I did it for the first time in Feb this year. It is very challenging. I DNF'd every single stage, but had a good time and learned a lot. Over the course, I did manage to get father in to each stage before I ran out of time so there was some improvement along the way even during the race. Part of the...

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

One thing is for certain in all this. It only cost 2 dead people with no apparent criminal history, one dead dog who was simply defending his house, and 4 wounded police officers (some who will remain injured the rest of their lives), to protect us all from the dangers of a small amount of marijuana...

Re: Springfield Armory severs relationship with Dicks

Maybe other manufacturers will follow their lead. I think they should, but firearms manufacturers blacklisting gun-controlling customers, especially state governments, are running a risk. The more manufacturers that participate, the more likely it is that some state attorney general will sue, alleg...

Looks like there may be a possible vote on the terrible HB 899 gunbuster bill this week.
Does anyone in the know have any thoughts on it's current chances of passing committee?

Re: Accurate statistics

Apologies if this is the wrong place. Does anyone know of a good site that is also user friendly to get accurate statistics on firearm use and misuse? On one of my other forums a guy is saying in 90 days 720 children will be shot and killed. I don't believe that number but don't know where to find ...

Re: GSD or Belgian Malinois Breeders?

Got my GSD pup last year from Heritage Hills German Shepherds http://heritagehillsgermanshepherds.com/ They are two brothers (both LEOs) who each breed their females as a hobby. I can't say enough good things about them or the pup I got from them. Wonderfully solid personality with an off the charts...

Re: Left starts their attack - HuffPo article on 'NRA' member opposing HB 375 and 560

Did anyone else see the obvious self destructive reasoning in this letter? He claims to oppose HB 375 because he believes ... at the minimum - that we have licensed and trained folks carrying in public However he is opposing HB 560 because he is terrified of these same licensed and trained carriers ...

Re: Just 3% of Americans own almost 50% of the country’s guns, study says

It will be interesting to see if the antis try to spin this to claim gun ownership is declining when they are using a terrible indicator. The better metric is gun permits/CHLs From 2007 to 2015 the number of permits and CHLS have gone from 4.6 million to 12.8 million according to CPRC research. Each...
