Re: TX: Mooney Aircraft in Kerrville shuts down

When I was young, my father had a Mooney and flew out of Houston. He was an AF pilot and retired. When I was young, I took the controls and flew the aircraft for a short period of time. I did this a couple of times. When I got older, dad could not understand the lunacy of me jumping out of aircraft ...

Re: Someone push me...

I have about 70% of an HF install finished in my Jeep, once I get the HF radio working I think it would be amazing if I was able to coordinate my first HF contact with a forum member. I like to operate HF. Since we are at the bottom of the cycle, HF on 10-15 is not the best. Will check 20 for DX bu...

Re: Someone push me...

I should have the repeater up by October and I'll get the TexasCHLforum net going soon after. I'll have it available by AllStar, Echlink and possibly IRLP so anyone can get in regardless of their location. Chas. Not to hijack the thread, but where will you locate the repeater? Would be nice to use ...

Take a close look at your door locks.
Another good one is a small hole from a small screwdriver just below the door lock. Broke into a Chrysler but nothing of value stolen. Of course it was a Chrysler so they left the car.

Re: The keeper.

You do realize the paranoid inducing quality of your questions, eh...? Yeah, thought about that and will limit to a couple. Two that will remain as long as I live belonged to my late father. In 1956 dad bought two Colts; a 38 Super and a Model 357. Both manufactured in '56. Several months later, I ...

Re: Ham Radio Operator Finds Lost NASA Satellite

I was actually one of 2 HAMS that set up the first SAREX (Shuttle Amateur Radio EXperiment) school contact in Missouri. Part of a team with the Clear Lake Amateur Radio Club (CLARC) who setup a contact with the Space Station for IMAX. I setup the antenna at the Seabrook Intermediate school (simple ...

Re: .44 AutoMag being reborn - JD Jones

Good man! We'll have to hook up when we both have ours and annoy some fellow shooters  Andy, that would be fun. Also I thought I read somewhere the 50 Founders editions were being shipped. Not sure if all were shipped, let us know when yours arrives, plus a video! ** Clarification/edit - 77 F...

Re: .44 AutoMag being reborn - JD Jones

I have been following the AutoMag for a long time but never made a final decision to purchase one. Not an expert but fairly versed on the history. Also, ones being sold had concerns with condition and reliability. There were good ones and not so good ones. When I found out that the AutoMag was being...

Auto Mag Ltd. Taking Orders

From what I understand, the Auto Mag Ltd. is now taking orders, and money, if you were on their waiting list, signed up. Looks like for those who are interested their wait is over to purchase one. Just some time to manufacture them. Congratulations to Andy for snagging one of the Founders Edition. H...

Re: Children and guns

I think showing them the damage a bullet or shot pellets can do on game animals was the most profound lesson. Completely agree. At a young age (oh so long ago) my father taught the typical rules, don't touch, etc. However, the visual lesson left a distinct impression that firearms were meant for bu...

Re: NRA's black commentator becomes Web sensation

I think it is great the anti-gun group is picking on Mr. Noir. His commentaries/videos are very well done, good, quick and straight to the point. "We" the pro-firearms group have viewed his videos for years. Now is viewing audience is expanding to both sides. Maybe his videos will make a f...
