Alinsky Rule #5
"Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."

It's effective, but not as a substitute for dialog when the "enemy" wants to talk.

The Right is using Alinsky quite well against the left. Not that those are tactics of first resort, but when they are used against you, you learn quickly.
