Re: WACO TACTICAL FITNESS BIATHLON OCT 12

Anyone going to Waco Oct 23? I’m signed up for Saturday’s 10K 2nd heat. It’ll be my 2nd event. To go along with my budget Stag build and budget Burris optic, I may try a budget Condor chest rig. Anyone use one of those?

That’s good to know about TDSA. I was a member several years ago, but at the time their rifle range went out to 200 yards max. I’d probably still be a member there, but I was able to get sponored for membership at another club range for a less expensive annual fee.

Re: WACO TACTICAL FITNESS BIATHLON OCT 12

If I remember correctly, I think their longest distance target was 600 yards at their 2018 10K event. So if you can find a range that offers that kind of distance, that would help. FWIW, my range only goes out to 200 yards. I was still able to make their 600 yard shot, even though I had never shot that far before, but their target face was pretty big. I have no idea if I hit the target anywhere near the center, though.

Re: WACO TACTICAL FITNESS BIATHLON OCT 12

I did it last October. Much harder than I thought it would be. It was very wet, soggy and muddy, which added to the difficulty. My AR got scratched up and still has mud imbedded in the buttstock. Although I trained by routinely jogging 7 miles with a 20 lb backpack, I was exhausted by mile 3. My shooting sucked, and the whole experience humbled me greatly as other competitors zipped past me with ease and shot their stages well within the allotted time. I DNFed almost all of them.

Despite the humiliating, muddy misery it brought me, I’d love to do it all over again! So yeah, I’m thinking of signing up for this Fall’s event.
